About
“The Algorithm” was inspired by Brent Lucia’s work in teaching both technical writing and early childhood literacy courses. The algorithm is a topic he explored while shuttling between these two different classes, thus allowing him to consider the similarities between algorithms and language.

SUBJECT: The Algorithm
Elegance is found in a sequence
whispered in successive states
and the sentient glow built in sounds
between short, tapered regrets.
• Inputs, like phonemes, found our rhythm.
• In structure, a networked s/o/u/l.
Our stories unravel in outputs,
calculating to the skin
